Out of the Park (OOTP) Developments is releasing their newest software soon (OOTP 10) and it has some incredible updates.
The software is a baseball simulator, which puts the human players in charge of major league baseball teams.
Players trade with each other, sign free agents, draft and develop players and control coaching styles, lineups, etc.
It's incredibly complete, and incredibly simple to use.
So why am I writing about this?
Because I want to start a THR league!!!
Here's the preorder page, which is filled with tons of information about the new game:

Check it out, and let us know if you want to start a league, it's a lot of fun --especially if you already love Fantasy Baseball.

"I just had an argument with a girl I know. She was saying how it's unfair that if a guy bangs a different girl every week, he's a legend, but if a girl bangs just two guys in a year, she's a slut. So in response I told her that if a key opens lots of locks, then it's a master key. But if a lock is opened by lots of keys, then it's a crappy lock. That shut her up."

I suppose it could be fun. Any ideas what simming rules will be like? How many AI teams? And so on?
The idea is to have as many human players as possible.
From there, we will decide any specifics --assuming we have enough interest.
Also, if you preorder the game, you save $10!

Fair enough. The last one I played was OOTP 2006. I think that's when I last played with the league we were in. I've been considering buying the game since it's on discount. I'm still not sure. I'll make a decision later this week, hopefully it's not too late. The idea is to have as many human players as possible.

Can we have a live draft?
if not, I pick the Mets. Booyaaa.
No team assignments yet.
We'll figure out specifics once we get this thing started (and hopefully not "if").

Is AIM neccesary? I don't instant message no more. I hate it.
It's not necessary.
Private messaging is all you need!

I'd say that a minimum of ten is needed to get this thing going, and that could still demand contraction.

My interest in baseball stats goes all the way back to the mid-60s when my brother and I were hooked as little kids on a primitive sim game called Challenge the Yankees (a lineup of Yankees played against a lineup of All-Stars from other teams, using dice and cards). Each player card had the player's written signature in lieu of a printed name and at our age, we couldn't read the handwriting and didn't know any better, so for several years we had many players' names completely wrong. When I got a little older and finally realized that the guy in the game whose name I thought was Henry Rawn was actually the famous Hank Aaron it was a "Eureka" moment in my young life.
