Okay, now this is a guy who couldn't throw the ball from the mound to the plate without hitting the back stop first. Aren't they afraid if they have him in RF he's going to end up throwing the ball clean out of the park? :fryingpan:

The thing is he has been given a chance at DH before and he was a solid, not spectacular hitter, he just missed a full season with an injury, and isn't exactly a spring chicken any more.

The Cardinals are loyal I guess, but maybe the guy needs to consider a new career.

I still have no idea what's going on....

i think its inspiring that he wont give up, and even more inspiring that the Cards dont give up on him, but i think another "average" season for Ankiel as a Minor leage outfielder should relegate him to an independent league

Well, it's a heck longer from RF to 3B than it is from the mount to home plate. So the ball bound to have more time to come back down close to the ground right?
