I'm currently reading Melville's Moby using the annotated version on the internet known as Power Moby: http://www.powermobydick.com/. I find the annnotations to be very helpful. As for the quality of the work itself -- "good book" indeed. It's rather like reading the King James Bible, except much funnier.damn its a good book

Great site- i will use that next year when i teach it
My Heroic Journey students just finished reading it and really liked it a lot more than i thought they would. We are going to juxtapose it with Don Quixote.
