It was fun watching Fmart.
He looks very refined and you can certainly tell why everyone loves him. His swing continues to morph over the years, he continues to fill out and everything looks positive (as much as you can gleam out of 6 games).
Its unfortunate in that he still needs to prove he can stay healthy, but I would have no problem giving him the RF job at the start of spring training and having frenchy and pagan platoon in cf (with GMJ as the 5th outfielder). But I guess we need to see if he 1) stays healthy this spring, 2) performs and 3) how everything else shakes out.
As for Figgy, he again looked heads and toes above the competition. I don't understand why he isn't locked in as that spot starter/long relief option the Mets have missed since Darren Oliver left.

Here's an interesting look at the Mets outfield defensive abilities:

It looks like Francoeur could handle center field, maybe he would even be better suited for that position than he is for right field.
I would like to see all three of these players (Martinez, Figueroa and Feliciano) have chances to help the Major League team this season. They're all worthy of the opportunity.

If Feliciano plays for the team this year, something has gone seriously wrong. Ergo, I look forward to seeing him by July.

Agreed. Let's remember that before the CWS, F-Mart was riding the interstate in Winter Ball. I will say that looking at the awards given out in the CWS I don't feel as bad about the Mets minor leagues.

Actually, he was riding the interstate in the regular season. During the playoffs (and cws) he hit above 300. Obviously, winter ball is what it is, and for a player like Fmart who is way advanced, all that really matters is that he played healthy.
All in all, he has more talent then everyone outside of Beltran and Bay in that outfield.

Agreed. I just don't think he has more talent now. I agree with you that he should spend this entire season in the minor leagues. If he's tearing it up there (i.e. > 1000 OPS) after like May, I'd call him up. Otherwise keep him down there, and if we need him for a playoff push or something he's a good guy to have.
I just hope that if he plays incredibly well the Mets will decide they won't need to make a midseason move. I'd still love it if they could trade for like Adam Dunn or something.

He could be an injury replacement or a September call-up.
He deserves to be on the depth chart.

Well... Feliciano and Figueroa are both over age 30, so I hope they aren't building up your hope?

Yes, but our depth chart includes Beltran, Pagan, GMJ, Catalanatto, FMart, etc. And injury replacement counts under horribly wrong
